January 1st - Happy New Year!

I guess Emma was good last year because Santa sure was good to her on Christmas Day. Emma woke up to an array of gifts and a stuffed stocking. We spread her presents out through the morning because I think it became a little overwhelming for her. Chris did a great job putting together the doll house that Emma's Grandpa bought for her as well as the kitchen set that my mom contributed. Emma would like to invite everyone over for dinner. She can now cook and clean in her own kitchen, however, that hasn't seemed to deter her from "helping" me in my kitchen. I thought for sure the presents would turn her around on her feelings towards Santa, but she told me today that she still doesn't like him. Maybe next year?

Emma and I walked over and watched the Rose Parade this morning. It still amazes me how many people camp out overnight for it. I felt really lucky that we could walk there and back without any traffic or big crowds. Emma loved the floats and the marching bands. She waved and clapped all morning along with our neighbors and their son. It was a great way to begin 2010.

It looks like Emma got a lot of nice things. I'd love to hear what she thinks of her new BlaBla baby doll. I still want one for Tess! Glad you all had a great Christmas together.
