January 10th

Emma is starting 2010 off on a good note. She went back to gymnastics yesterday after a 3 week hiatus. She picked it right up again! I took her to a pre-school fair where she was able to interact with some cute rabbits and she loved petting them. We went to the bookstore too and I had pictured her perusing the colorful board books, but she was much more interested in climbing up and down the stairs (again, again and again) between the first and second floor. Today Emma had quite a fall though. Chris and I heard a loud noise followed by a piercing cry coming from her bedroom. It took a couple of minutes to figure out what body part had suffered damage. Emma developed quite a large bump on her forehead. She made a pretty quick recovery and the swelling has started to go down. Lastly, Emma displayed some rather unfortunate and unintended potty training issues (I'll spare you the details). Let's just say that I'm doing things as a mom that I never thought I would be doing :-)

You'll probably notice in the pictures below that Emma's hair is getting pretty long. We still haven't cut it, but after I realized that it is half way down her back when I was washing it, a hair cut might be in her immediate future.

I love the pictures of Emma in her toddler bed. It looks as if she is reading to her baby and all of her friends.

The last pictures are of her new kitchen set. She really enjoys playing with it and making us meals. She still loves the big kitchen though and is always willing to lend a hand, especially if water is involved.

Poor thing, I hope her bump is completely better soon. I'm sure that was scary for everyone.
