January 17th

I took a few pictures of Emma Claire yesterday morning before her gymnastics class. We were up bright and early :-) Emma had a good weekend and got to see her Gramma, cousins, aunt and uncle. She also had the opportunity to see a fire truck up close! We frequently walk by a fire station that's close to our house. On Saturday afternoon the truck was just pulling in and some very nice firemen offered to show us the truck and ambulance. Emma even got to sit in the fire truck's driver seat! I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me, but they told us to come back any time. Emma loved seeing the truck and the firemen were very nice to her.

This morning I had a last minute idea to trek up to one of our favorite breakfast places in LA. It's a little far, but totally worth it. My vision was of our small family enjoying a nice, quiet Sunday morning breakfast. I pictured Emma coloring and playing with her stickers while Chris and I savored our french toast and pancakes. It didn't quite work out that way. Instead, the computer went down at the restaurant which meant the orders backed up. Emma can only stay entertained in a stationary position for so long. By the time the food came she was totally over it so I inhaled my breakfast and took her outside to play. Maybe my vision will become a reality some day :-)

Emma's daycare is closed tomorrow so Chris is staying home with her. I'm completely jealous, but I am sure they will have a wonderful day together.

Don't get discouraged. She'll sit and wait patiently for you in about 5 years. :) LOVE those purple tennies! I'd love to know the brand.
