December 18th

Emma has had an exciting couple of weeks. We put our Christmas tree up the first weekend in December. She was a little apprehensive at first, but quickly warmed up to the tree, the lights and of course all of the ornaments. She has been an angel about not pulling ornaments off the tree and hasn't touched any of the presents under it. She even knows how to turn the lights on (via switch).

December has also been a month for birthdays. On the 6th we went to a birthday party for Emma's friend Haley, who turned two. Haley is the daughter of a good friend of mine, who is extremely creative. She put together this amazing birthday party at this place called Play, where they have all sorts of art supplies set up so the kids can paint and draw and make a huge mess without Mommy and Daddy having to clean it up. They also have a play room with lots of toys and another room where the tables and chairs were set up. Check out the picture of the birthday cake below!

The following weekend, Shari took Emma to the third birthday party of one of her classmates in daycare.

Finally, Emma's Grandma's birthday is today, so Shari made her a cake, which Emma got to put candles on and then blow them out. Check out the videos. Though she won't eat the cake, she loves to "help" make it, talk about it and blow out the candles. She's also very good at singing happy birthday, but wasn't willing to do it for the camera...
