The Monday after Emma's birthday party, her Grandpa and Peggy took her up to Monterey for four nights. I believe that is the longest that Emma has ever been away from both of us at once, however she did great on the trip, and had a wonderful time. Grandpa has always liked going to the tide pools, an interest that Emma shares, so they spent plenty of time exploring them, as well as going to the wonderful Monterey Bay Aquarium and Dennis the Menace Park. Grandpa and Peggy rented a neat condo that had great views of the bay.
I have really fond memories of trips to the Texas Coast that I took with my grandparents when I was a bit younger than Emma, and of trips that I took with my grandmother, as I grew older. I wish that I had more photos of those trips, as they were really special to me. I am sure that Emma will reflect fondly on this trip. She's a very luck girl!
