Last weekend we went to the swim club to meet some of Emma's girlfriends for a play date.  The swim club has a diving board and I had been nervous all summer about letting Emma jump off of it.  Even though there are plenty of lifeguards there and Emma has been taking swimming lessons, it just seemed like such a big step.  So, while we were waiting for her friends to arrive I asked Emma if she wanted to try out the diving board.  She didn't even hesitate to say yes.  I thought she might back down once she was on the board and looking down into the water, but she just bounced a few times and then took the plunge.  She loved it.  She jumped over and over and over again.  The swim club is open until October so I'm glad she will be able to use the diving board for a while before our membership expires.
