August 12th

Last week we took Emma for her 5 year check up with her pediatrician.  Emma is now 44 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds.  I think Emma is doing great, but it's always reassuring when her doctor agrees with me.

On Friday I took her down to Anaheim for her first sleepover with her "best girlfriends" (moms included).  At one point all of the girls went to Emma's old daycare, but now they are all in different places.  We have kept up with each other though and I hope it continues.  It's really fun to see the girls grow up together and watch how they interact with one another.  One of the grandparents donated a night in their timeshare so we were all able to stay together in a 3 bedroom suite.  The girls swam, played in a fountain, giggled non-stop, watched fireworks from the rooftop, had their toenails painted and really enjoyed the evening.

On Saturday we said goodbye to our friends after lunch and then continued our adventure and went down to my mom's house to spend the night.  We went to our favorite beach this morning and then made the trek back to Pasadena.  It was a fun and busy weekend!  Emma starts her last week of the pre-school summer session tomorrow.

I love the idea of an overnight mom-daughter sleepover! I hope the girls all stay close as they grow older.
