When we were deciding where to go on vacation, I really wanted to stay at a place that had a beach and a pool within walking distance.  I also wanted the beach to be nice and calm (the beaches in Southern California are often very cold and the waves can be fairly strong).  The beach in Maui was perfect.  The water was beautiful and Emma had fun playing in the waves.  There was a little path from our resort that led right to the beach which was just what I was looking for.  I miss it already.
