Lucy

Emma has developed quite an affection our cat, Lucy. Lucy has been with us since Emma was about one. She has always been sweet with Emma, if not a little standoffish. Lucy has a bit of a sedentary lifestyle. She sleeps about 99.5% of the day, with the remaining half a percentage spent at the food or water bowls or in her litter box. My previous cats, Tigger and Spencer, were a lot more active and had much more of a personality. That's what I was hoping for when I got Lucy, but alas, it wasn't to be.

Lucy started sleeping on Emma's bed a few months ago (Emma would previously not go to bed unless Lucy was OUT of her room), and now she has (thankfully) taken up residence in Emma's room. We still keep her litter box and food in our room, but that's just because we don't have space in Emma's room.

Last week Emma asked Shari to put Lucy in her lap while she watched TV. The photos below are the result. It was very sweet...Emma loves her kitty cat...

The dental floss on Lucy's bed is what Emma uses as a toy to play with her (Lucy chases it like a string and makes her silly noises that only cats with smushed faces can make). It's one of the only activities I see Lucy partake in. No, she's not my favorite member of the family, but as long as Emma loves her, that's all that matters to me...
