August 27th cont.

Since Emma is 4 now, it was time for me to take her back to the doctor for a check up and more vaccinations. She wasn't too thrilled about the shots and definitely didn't understand the need for the doctor's visit, much less the shots, since she wasn't sick. She kept insisting she felt fine :-) Emma is over 40 inches tall and weighs around 35lbs.

For a while now, Emma has been asking to go back to gymnastics class. We decided not to enroll her in ballet simultaneously so we gave her a choice between the 2 activities and she chose gymnastics. I found a new place close to our house and we went to a free trial class last weekend. She was initially unsure of the whole situation and I was convinced we would just skip activities for a while based on her reaction to the first 20 minutes of class, but she turned the corner and ended up really enjoying the latter part of the session. She asked to go back again as soon as it was over so I signed her up for the fall session. Naturally she is already asking to buy a gymnastics leotard.

Emma finished the transition to the last room at her daycare/preschool. I'm trying to enjoy the fact she is still there instead of worrying prematurely about kindergarten next year. She has been going to this school since she was 2 months old so it holds a special place in my heart. Her teachers this year are wonderful and we feel really fortunate that she has been able to stay in the same environment for the past 4 years.

The last picture was from a walk we took this past Sunday. We came across this little squirrel eating and I think Emma was glad I finally took a picture of something else besides her :-)
