These are my last pictures from our Galveston trip. A long time ago I bought the perfect dress for Emma. It's white which meant I stashed it at the top of her closet for months so that I could pull it out for just the right occasion. The sunset was beautiful on our last night in Galveston and I was excited when Emma wanted to put on the special dress after I showed it to her. I generally don't spend much money on Emma's clothes, but I actually paid full price for this dress and it was still spotless by the time we made our way down to the beach after dinner. Can you guess where this is going? I diverted her attention from the alluring sand toys just as she was about to sit down and start digging. I wrangled her over to the water and got my camera ready. I don't know if it was her or me, but I could not get the type of picture I wanted. Oh well. It's totally not a big deal, but I was a little disappointed. The last picture below is actually the exact opposite of the type of picture I normally try to take and it ended up being my favorite. I think it would look fantastic on a big canvas or on a small note card. Fortunately, we live near the ocean so I can try to get another picture again soon before Emma grows out of the dress.
