Emma is going through a lot of interesting developmental stages right now. I wanted to share them with you since I am a very proud mom :-)
1 - Emma can now sing the alphabet song plus a number of nursery rhymes. She can do a great rendition of Old Macdonald Had a Farm, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday, Slippery Fish and 5 Little Monkeys.
2 - Emma Claire can count to 20 (yep, she's a genius in my opinion). She has funny voice inflections and sometimes it seems like she's racing when she's counting because she will go really fast.
3 - I noticed tonight that she can now properly name the correct number of objects we are looking at, i.e. the number of cats in a book or the number of forks in the drawer. Before she would count them, but she would keep counting even after she reached the right number. Now she is accurate and it's really neat to see her excitement.
4 - Our daughter is quite a ham. I catch her looking around to make sure that people are watching her before she "performs".
5 - Emma is very compassionate towards others. She gets concerned when someone is upset and will ask them if they are ok. Sometimes she will even offer a bandaid and she will also offer a kiss to help them feel better. Emma has a very sweet affectionate side.
Sadly I don't have any pictures to share with you right now since they are all on Chris' computer. I'm going to start saving up for my own computer so that I can post new pictures on my own without being dependent on help. Needless to say, Emma is still cute (not that I'm biased or anything) and is getting taller every day. Whatever happened to the little baby who was immobile and non-verbal?
