October 26th

I had no idea how much everything would change once Emma discovered the ability to walk! That little girl has not slowed down since last Saturday :-) Emma had a great weekend. We drove down to Fashion Island (it's a beautiful outdoor shopping center in Orange County) and met my mom for some shopping (thank you again for the cute clothes and books mom!) and lunch. Emma can't wait to go back again soon! Here are some notes about the photos below:

1 - Fashion Island had a great carousel. I had wonderful visions of riding multiple times and listening to Emma giggle as her horse went up and down in time with the music. The reality...Emma tolerated the ride. She didn't get upset, but she also didn't giggle with glee as I had imagined :-)
2 - I'm finding out that I need to come up with new ways every once in a while to keep Emma entertained while I make dinner. Last week I opened the cabinet where we keep our pots and pans (normally this is locked) and discovered that Emma will play for a LONG time with whatever she finds in there. Forget about registering for toys, I should have registered for pots and pans for my baby shower!
3 - I have discovered that Emma now likes to throw away things...even if it's not trash! I opened our kitchen trash can the other day and our can of Morton Salt was in there. I thought, well that's funny...maybe it's empty? Nope, it was still full. So I took it out and set it in the cabinet. The next thing I knew, Emma came walking into the kitchen, picked up the salt, and threw it away again! I grabbed my camera and caught her in action :-) I also discovered my new bottle of lotion in my bathroom trash can. There seems to be trend here.
4 - The last picture is really cute! First, I was VERY proud of myself for getting Emma's hair up. It's such a challenge lately as she is in constant motion. Second, this picture shows the excitement that Emma feels when she walks. She is very proud of herself! Of course we are proud of her too. She is such a sweet little girl.
