October 19th - Idyllwild & Emma walks!

This weekend we took a mini-vacation with our friends, Kelley, Geronimo and their little boy, Diego, and drove to Idyllwild. Idyllwild is in the San Jacinto mountains, about two hours southeast of LA. We rented a cabin for two nights and had lots of fun! Emma played with Diego while the adults relaxed and socialized.

One of the most exciting and noteworthy events of the weekend, though, was that Emma took her first steps on her own! She has been walking (with our assistance) for quite a while now, and had taken a step or two here and there, but this was the first time she clearly decided to walk on her own! At the cabin, we had a deck outside, and Emma loved to go "outside" and walk laps around the deck with Daddy or Mommy. We were sitting in the living room getting ready to eat dinner, and Emma decided she didn't need our help anymore! I've included two videos below, taken right after she decided to walk on her own.

We are so excited and proud of this milestone for Emma! It's so cute to see her walking on her own, taking step after cautious step...

We all had a great weekend and can't wait to do it again soon!
