June 24

What a difference a week can make. Last Monday, Chris and I experienced the struggle that many working parents come across at some point. You're at work in a meeting and your child's daycare calls and says that you need to come pick up your little one since they are developing a fever. We had work commitments last week that were not easy to break, but of course if your baby is sick then she immediately becomes your first priority. My mom quickly volunteered to take off from her job the next day so that she could take care of Peanut while Chris and I went to work. Grandparents are the best (thank you again mom)! Emma had caught a little cold on top of the virus she was still trying to get over, plus her fifth tooth was still breaking through her gum line. By Friday, she was feeling much better and was reunited with her long lost daycare pals. Chris' mom is in town this week and is taking care of Emma Claire. They have a wonderful relationship and I know they will enjoy their time together.

Here are some notes about the pictures below.
1 - Emma has a super cute dress that her Aunt Sandy bought for her and I've been waiting for her to grow a little before taking her picture in it. She still needs to grow into it a bit more, but it was so cute on her! I went to get some coordinating balloons for it (I had the idea in my head and I just couldn't let go of it until I had fulfilled it!) as I thought Emma would really enjoy them. So, I'm leaving the balloon store with my colorful latex bundle and when I went to get the car keys out of my purse, I inadvertently released my $4 purchase and watched in dismay as it floated up into the sky! I have no idea why I let go of the balloons. I just had to laugh at myself and I went back into the store to make the same purchase.
2 - A week or so ago, I made a comment to my mom about Emma's sleepwear or rather the lack of it. I was putting her to bed in a onesie and my mom reminded me about the concept of pajamas :-) I have no idea why I didn't put Emma in pajamas sooner, but now I love it! The owl pajamas with coordinating striped pants are so cute (almost as cute as Peanut).
