September 4th

Today is Emma's first day of Kindergarten.  I think we have helped her have a smooth transition, but I'm still feeling a little nervous for her as she begins her academic adventure.  I am so proud of her and I hope she enjoys her new school and the friends she has there as well as the new friends she will make this year.  I also have a little sympathy for Mrs. Parker (her teacher) who will have both Emma and her best friend, Audrey, in the same class.  The girls can be pretty silly together.  Before I had Emma, I never imagined sending our child to a private Christian school. However, I'm learning that I need to keep my mind open to new possibilities as we continue to navigate parenthood and we seek out what we think is best for Emma.  I have a feeling it's going to be a great year for her!
