Purplicious

We've been talking about repainting Emma's room for a while now. She requested purple a while back, so we started out looking through a paint swatch that I have. That led to getting a sample container of paint, and painting a small section of wall as a test. That turned out too light, so we selected a shade of purple from her "Purplicious" book, which I took to the paint store and found a close match. This time, we all liked the test sample.

So while Shari and Emma were in Dana Point this weekend, I had her room repainted. It turned out to be a lot of work; moving all of the furniture to the middle of the room, then moving everything back, and doing a thorough cleaning. I've been avoiding vacu-dusting her room for a while now, because she has so many little knick-knacks that all have to be picked up and vacuumed under and it takes me such a long time to do the job properly. But the end result was a huge success! She loves the new color and her new bedding that I got to go along with it! She even made her bed this morning, folded her blanket and straightened her books before we left for school (all without me having to ask)!

Nice choice. Purples can be tricky, I think. It looks good. It's darker than I expected you'd go. I bet Emma loves it! Is that a new picture to the right of the window? Where did you buy the lamp above her bed? Still waiting to see a picture of the inside of the closet. :)
