1 - The other day Emma asked for carrots. I almost fell off of my chair. Just to be sure we were on the same page, I confirmed with her that she actually wanted to eat the carrots. She said yes and then I quickly checked the window to be sure a pig wasn't flying by. She actually ate all of the carrots. Amen.
2 - Emma has some enviable dance moves. I have no idea who she gets it from since they certainly didn't come from her parents.
3 - We are still trying to teach her the value of keeping the promises that she makes. I told her she would be upset if I didn't keep my promises. She responded by telling me that just because she didn't keep her promises doesn't mean that I can't keep mine. I didn't know how to respond.
4 - Emma announced that she likes chocolate (an understatement), but not chocolate sprinkles. Go figure.
5 - Last night Emma told Lucy (our cat) that she was a "pain in the patootie". Apparently she learned this phrase from watching My Little Pony.
Overall Emma is clearly a healthy, funny and smart 5 year old. We are really proud to be her parents. Just don't believe her if she makes you any promises :-)
