Emma Claire does not have any siblings. People (some close to us and
some who are strangers) have made some very hurtful comments to me about
this. I would like to believe that they do not mean to be
intentionally insensitive. Of course I have concerns about what the long term
impact will be if she doesn't have any siblings, but one look at this
face tells me that for now she is turning out just fine...even if she
does insist on wearing a Mickey Mouse hat and Cinderella shoes to the
park.

She could have long-term impact if she DID have siblings. (just ask Emi, who often wishes she were an only child!) Each and every thing we do as parents can impact our kids in both positive and negative ways. Don't listen to what other people say. She is definitely a bright, beautiful, sensitive, caring and funny little girl. I'd say she is just fine. :)
