June 22nd

Today was Emma's final day at her preschool.  She started going there when she was 2 months old (that's the first picture below) and it's hard for me to believe that she has been there for over 4 1/2 years now.  We were extremely fortunate to find such a nurturing environment for Emma and she has really thrived there as a result of the fantastic teachers and her peers.  It is a big coincidence that her last day coincided with the graduation ceremony.  Emma's new preschool starts their summer session on Monday so the timing worked out really well.  The teachers planned a bunch of fun arts and crafts activities for the kids prior to the ceremony plus face painting.  Emma loved going from one activity to another with her friends.  The kids sang a song and recited a really cute poem for the ceremony and then they received their certificates and had a balloon release.  I made it through the afternoon without any tears until we were saying goodbye to the teachers.  They presented us with a huge binder stuffed with scrapbook pages of pictures and art work that have been collected since 2007 when Emma first started attending the school.  At that point I started crying because it was really touching and it was just another example of the amazing teachers that have touched Emma's life.  We are so grateful to all of them.

That is such a nice celebration. And that scrapbook - what a special gift! I can see why you had some tears. I hope she has a great first day at her new school on Monday and makes just as many wonderful friends and memories during her time there.
