October 27th
We woke up bright and early to get our day started and headed down to San Diego after breakfast. My mom lives about 60 miles from San Diego so the drive wasn't bad at all and we were there at 10am when the park opened. The weather, the lack of crowds and the really cute Halloween decorations around the park all helped contribute to a great day. I think I might have enjoyed Sea World more than Disneyland because it just seemed so much more manageable due to the park's size. It certainly helped that it wasn't crowded at all. I realized a little while ago that my days of planning vacations during the school year to avoid the crowds will quickly come to a close next year as Emma starts kindergarten.
Anyway, my mom and I have been to Sea World before, but this was Emma's first time and she loved it! There were lots of things she loved to do: see the animal shows, go to the exhibits, play in the Sesame Street area, etc... She went strong the whole day and eventually gave in to sleep on the way to the hotel. It was such a fun day and I think it was even better because we knew we were going back to Sea World again the next day. We were able to plan a few things and also catch some stuff we missed on the first day. Below are the pictures from our first day and there are more to come :-)
