November 10th
This morning Emma told me that I'm "not a very good mom". I know she's only 4 and she was frustrated that I didn't have time to make her chocolate chip muffins before going to work, but it still hurt. There are days when being a parent is particularly hard. Of course I still love her though and wouldn't trade her for anything.

Ha ha. Sorry to laugh, but it seems to be a universal kid skill to know just the thing to say that will really get to us. I could tell you what Gus said a few nights ago and then you wouldn't feel so bad. She doesn't mean it. And you ARE a good mom. It's child manipulation, don't get sucked into it. Oh - are you now making chocolate chip muffins? :) Very nice picture of the two of you.
