This is what you would have heard at the Giles breakfast table last Sunday:

"If you take one bite of the pancake, we can go ride the train and a pony PLUS you can have cotton candy."

Yep, we were trying to come up with an incentive for Emma to eat one bite of a pancake. It was both sad and funny at the same time because she was still refusing to try the pancake. Emma continues to have a very selective diet and refuses to try new foods. She finally agreed to try the pancake provided she could spit it out if she didn't like it. I don't stress out as much over her eating issues due to her pediatrician (she reassures us that Emma is still a healthy little girl) and her daily vitamin. Of course I would be elated though if she chose to expand her diet. After Emma spit out her bite of pancake, we went to Griffith Park in search of a train, a pony and some cotton candy :-)
