September 3rd

The first eight pictures below are from last weekend. Emma and I went down to my mom's house for the day and had a great time. My mom has a really sweet neighbor and she bought Emma some tutus (a girl can never have too many). Emma Claire loves playing dress up and really enjoyed wearing them!

The next 2 pictures are from this morning as we went to Emma's first ballet/tap dance class. She has been trying on her outfit almost every day since we bought it and has even slept in her ballet slippers a couple of times. Today was the big day of her first session and she really enjoyed it! There are 4 girls in her class which is a great size. We aren't allowed to take pictures in the dance studio, but I took one anyway. Unfortunately it's not a great picture so I'm going to try and take some more next weekend. The parents wait outside the classroom during the lesson, although there is a window in the door where we can see all the action. Emma got caught waving to me a couple of times :-) I was really impressed with how well she paid attention overall though and she is definitely ready to go back next weekend. I miss gymnastics, but Emma wants to try ballet for now so we'll see what happens in a few months when the classes are over.

The last picture is of my first official sewing project...a tote bag! I took a couple of classes at a sewing studio which detailed how to make a tote bag from a pattern. It was a lot of fun and I am really enjoying my new hobby. I signed up for another set of classes and will learn how to make pajama pants. I can see all of the flaws in my tote bag, but I love it :-)
