August 5th

Emma and I had a great time last weekend down at my mom's house. We have some really special friends in Dallas and they came to visit us. My mom and her friend, Pam, have been friends since before I was born. Pam's daughter, Danielle, and I have grown up together (I should point out that Danielle is older than me...I like to remind her of that). We don't get to see them nearly often enough.

Emma had "tea time" at my mom's house with her new tea set furnished by Gramma. I don't think she will be serving hot liquid any time soon given the mess she made. We went to the beach and it was fun to see Emma's reaction to the waves. The last time we went to the beach she just wanted to sit in the sand and didn't want to go anywhere near the water. It was a different story this time. She got such a kick out of the waves and ran around almost non-stop. I see more beach trips in our future.

Five fun facts about Emma:

1 - She LOVES to dance, sing and play dress-up.
2 - Emma LOVES band-aids and will put them haphazardly all over her body.
3 - She is transitioning to a new room at daycare and is doing great. She isn't suppose to fully transition until the end of next week, but they suggested bumping it up given how well she is responding to the new environment.
4 - Emma Claire can memorize books...seriously. I will read a book to her and she can read it back to me almost verbatim. Her teacher at daycare even commented on this since Emma has been doing it during story time.
5 - Her love of princesses is still going strong. It is really cute to see Emma traipsing around in her "glass slippers", tiara and princess dress.
