Yesterday we took Emma for her 3 year checkup with her pediatrician. We drive by the doctor's office building quite a bit since it's just down the street from our house. Just about every time we drive by, Emma gets an apprehensive look on her face and asks me if we're going to see the doctor. Unfortunately this time I had to say yes. She was on the verge of tears initially, but soon she was telling the nurse about her princesses while having her blood pressure taken. Emma even ran over to the pediatrician and gave her a big hug when she walked into the exam room. We talked about Emma's development and then it was time for a couple of shots. You can imagine how well that went over. Emma thanked the nurse as we were leaving even though she had tears rolling down her face. Emma Claire is now 38 inches tall and weighs 32 pounds. After her appointment we took her over to Pottery Barn Kids to use a gift card that my mom had given Emma for her birthday. We bought a much needed rocking cradle for her doll and went home to assemble it. Thankfully, Emma's dolls now have a comfortable place to nap :-)
I made a few decorations for Emma's birthday party last weekend. We have a super creative friend (Meredith) and she sent me a few ideas for the party. My favorite decoration was a fabric covered canvas that had the number 3 spelled out in tissue paper. It was really easy to make and I loved how it came out.
In a couple of pictures below Emma is making her "fish lips" face. It's hilarious and it is usually accompanied by a song. In this case, she was singing a rather loud rendition of the "Little Mermaid".
