June 20th - Father's Day

Last Sunday, Father's Day, we took Emma to Griffith Park. We gave her the choice of the pony ride, riding the train or the carousel. Even though Shari was convinced she would pick the pony, she immediately requested the carousel. The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round, as it's called, was built in 1926 and has been in Griffith Park since 1937. I have fond memories of riding on the Central Park Merry-Go-Round when I was a little boy, since my mother grew up in NYC and we visited there several times a year as I grew up.

This was Emma's second time on this carousel, though she has been on others at the Santa Anita Mall and in Fashion Island. This one is much more historic and authentic, though.

We all had a great time, and it was a perfect way to spend my third Father's Day! I couldn't ask for a more perfect daughter!!!
