February 26th

Emma Claire and I had an interesting conversation last night. As Chris mentioned earlier, she is definitely in the "why" phase which at first I thought was cute. Now, I just try to keep my patience when she asks "why" 1,432,234,667,234 times in a row. I find that after a minute or so, our conversation usually deteriorates. Below is an example:

Emma: "Where's Daddy?
Me: "He is working late tonight."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because he has some work to do, but he'll be home in a little bit."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because Daddy works hard and sometimes it can take a while to finish up everything for the day."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because Daddy is very busy right now."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because people like to work with him."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because he is very good at what he does."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because he cares about his job."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because."
Emma: "Why?"
Me: "Because."
Emma: "Why?"

At this point she lost interest so I told her it was time for her to take a bath. Her response? "Why?"
