There are many reasons why I love Emma Claire, but below are some of my recent favorites:

1 - The other night Chris handed Emma some water and I told her she needed to say "thank you". Her response? "Welcome Daddy". Instead of saying "thank you", Emma will say "welcome". It might be obnoxious later, but right now it's totally cute :-)

2 - Emma still sleeps with her legs tucked up under her.

3 - She will shake her booty on command and will have a big smile on her face.

4 - Emma can wear rainbow-striped pants and look adorable.

5 - Earlier this week I had worked all day...picked up Emma...given her a bath...fed her dinner...and then was attempting to make another dinner for me and Chris before I put her to bed. Chris and Emma were bonding over Sesame Street while I was in the kitchen making a lot of noise (dinner can be a loud process). I hear this little voice say "mommy" and I look up expectantly at my loving daughter and then I see her point her finger to her lips and I hear her say "mommy shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". Obviously I was interferring with Elmo, Big Bird and the SS gang. I then notice my husband laughing and realize he has brainwashed our innocent daughter and caused this outrageous behavior. I was laughing too hard to say anything and I'm not sure what kind of response I could have given her :-)

I never thought in a million years that I would be one of those moms who would lament their child's growth while realizing their tiny baby was growing up. Seriously. I used to judge moms who were like that and wonder why they were so crazy (I would also judge moms who left the house with stains on their clothes). I apologize to all of those moms out there who I used to roll my eyes at and chuckle. I get it now.
