We are spending the week in Nashville with my mother and sister, who drove up from Atlanta. On Sunday morning, we drove up to
Harrodsburg, Kentucky, to a place called Shaker Village, which was a family vacation spot when we were younger. It has been over 20 years since we've been there, but it is pretty much just as we remember it. My hopes of having fall colors to enjoy came true! The weather was perfect and the trees were beautiful! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and this turned out to be the perfect time for our visit.
Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill was once an actual, living Shaker community. Its 3,000 acres and 34 buildings have been restored and maintained to their original splendor. When visiting Shaker Village, you can stay in one of the old buildings. We stayed in the Old Ministry House, which is a small two story house on the grounds, pictured to the right in the first photo and in the second and third photos below.
As you can see, the scenery was beautiful...
