July 4th

As you can see from the photos, Emma had a very patriotic Independence Day. We packed up the car this morning and headed down to Grandma's house in Dana Point. Shari's cousin, Melody, is in town for the weekend from Oklahoma. Emma played, helped Melody decorate, and then we went down to the pool for Emma's first swim. The water was a little cold at first, but once we got in we got used to it. Emma wasn't quite sure what to think at first, but she got the hang of it eventually. She had a lot of fun, although she had a very serious look on her face most of the time!

Emma was in a great mood all afternoon, probably in part due to her long nap this afternoon. In addition to going through Shari's purse, she has now figured out how to get into her wallet! Good thing we don't usually carry much cash!
