July 27th

Emma had a fun week and weekend! We bought her a fancy tricycle and I think she loves it even though she can't reach the pedals yet :-) It's the kind of tricycle that has a long handle on the back so that it can be pushed without the aid of pedaling. I must admit that I did not like this kind of tricycle the first time I saw it, however, I changed my mind once I realized that Emma loves it and it's another fun way for her to spend time outside. There's a short video below of Emma on her new ride. Now if only her little legs would grow so that she can reach the pedals!

We also have a new addition to our family...Lucy the cat! Well, we are fostering her for 2 weeks to see how it goes before adopting her, but so far she has been great and Emma totally lights up when she sees her. Lucy is from a rescue society and she is a 2 year old Persian. She is a small replica of Tigger who passed away shortly after Emma was born. We hope that Lucy becomes a permanent addition to the Giles family! Chris and I both have great memories of our childhood pets and we hope Emma will as well. Lucy is featured in a couple of pictures at the bottom.

Please do not be alarmed by some of the pictures that you see below. No, Emma did not put her finger in a light socket. Her hair had a mind of its own one day and so I put a headband on her and just let it fly :-)

There are also a couple of pictures of Emma with our desk chair. She now likes to use it as a "walker" and will take it from our dining room area to the living room. I also caught her using the trash can in the same manner! Who knows what this little girl will think of next.

On a side note, I would like to say that Chris is becoming such a great photographer! His pictures are improving and he has been able to capture some great shots of Emma Claire. I will truly treasure his pictures as Peanut continues to grow up. I'm so lucky to have a husband who enjoys this particular hobby! This blog definitely would not be the same without Chris' efforts to capture Emma in such a loving manner.
