Emma Turns One!

Today marked one year since we packed up the car and headed to the hospital in anticipation of the birth of Emma Claire. It's amazing to think that just one year ago, she popped out into the world and into our lives. She has come so far in the past year, and we continue to be amazed every day at how she grows and changes.

Shari has been feverishly planning Emma's party for months. She woke up BEFORE the crack of dawn this morning to make cupcakes (from scratch) and prepare the other snacks for the party, which included a fruit salad and meat and cheese tray.

Emma had a great day! We took a walk around the neighborhood this morning, and then after a 2 hour nap, she came down and opened her presents with Gramma. She made out pretty well for a one year old!

The birthday party was at an indoor playground in South Pasadena called Amy's Playground. They shut down to the public on the weekends for private parties. This venue gave Emma and her friends a safe and clean place to play, and helpers were provided to do all of the set-up, serving and clean-up.

As you can see in the many photos below, she had a wonderful time at her party and a great day overall. Kudos to Shari for planning such a successful birthday for our amazing little girl!
