Emma Claire Giles is officially 2 months old today! She made a trip to the pediatrician's office for her first round of vaccinations. Emma is now 2 feet tall and 12 pounds of love :-) The nurse gave Emma 3 injections in her little legs. Prior to the shots, the nurse gave me some papers and told me that I did not need to check out with the front receptionist...so in other words, she was telling me that my baby would be crying pretty soon from the shots and I should proceed to the exit door as soon as possible! I've always heard mothers say that they could distinguish between their baby's different cries and I definitely concur. Today I learned Emma's cry signaling pain and it's one that I really don't want to hear again. Emma was cranky this afternoon (understandably so!), but is now back to her old self and we even got a few smiles out of her tonight (of course this could be attributed to gas, but I'm choosing to believe it was out of love for her parents!).
